Three persons were allegedly injured in firing during a clash between locals and a group of miscreants over a property-related dispute in Islamnagar here, police said today.
According to a complaint lodged by Abid Khan, a property dealer, he had some dispute with his partners Rashid and Gayoor over payment of a loan. Gayoor and Rashid with their 24 accomplices armed with shard-edged weapons and firearms forcibly entered Khan's house and confined him and his family.
When locals received information about the encroachment, hundreds of them gathered and started pelting the accused with stones. In return, the accused opened fire on the mob in which Furkaan (25), Tanveer (19) and Kadir received injuries, police said.

On receiving information two police personnel reached the spot but they were taken hostage by the mob, police said.
A heavy police force was sent to the spot which brought the situation under control.
Eighteen accused have been detained, police said, adding no FIR has been registered in the matter so far.
