: About 36 sovereigns of gold jewellery and Rs two lakh in cash were stolen from the house of a financier at Tiruchengode by an armed six member gang, police said.
Police said the man had gone to a temple in Dindigul with his friends when the burglary took place.
His parents and sister were in the home when the knife wielding gang broke in, tied them up and decamped with the cash and valuables, they said.
A search was on to nab the gang, they said.
