4 bikers killed in mishap

Four bike-borne persons were killed in two separate incidents in Palampur and Nurpur area while the body of a driver, who had slipped into Shahnehar canal, was recovered today.

In the first incident, a biker and his pillion rider were killed today when their vehicle collided with a truck on Bandla-Palampur road, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Ashish (25) and Harsh Deep (23), they said.

In the other accident, two persons were critically injured when their bike hit a private bus on Pathankot-Mandi National Highway.

The duo, in their 20s, succumbed on the way to the hospital, police said.
 

The deceased are yet to be identified. They were on their way to Pathankot while the bus was going from Dehra to Chowari in Chama district, police said.

Meanwhile, the body of a truck driver, who had slipped into Shahnehar canal near Nurpur yesterday, was recovered today.

The deceased has been identified as Jagdish, a resident of village Chilli in Chamba district, SHO, Fatehpur, Manohar Chowdhary said.
