675 motorists fined for violation on Day 14 of odd-even scheme

A total of 675 motorists were booked on the penultimate day of the odd-even car rationing experiment.

Four wheelers, only with even-numbered registration plates were allowed to ply today, barring exempted CNG vehicles and that being driven by VIPs and women.

The enforcement teams of the Delhi Government, comprising transport and revenue department officials, challaned 667 errant motorists while the traffic police booked a measly eight, officials said.

Yesterday, 552 people were challaned for violating the scheme, that will come to an end tomorrow.

The pilot plan was rolled out by the AAP dispensation on January 1 to curb soaring levels of air pollution in the city.
