ACB conducts searches at house of project officer, ITDA

The anti-corruption bureau today conducted simultaneous searches at the houses and offices of J Venkat Rao, Project Officer, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Seethampeta, and the houses of his relatives.
It seized documents related to assets worth Rs one crore and two bank lockers.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, ACB, said acting on a tip-off, five teams from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam conducted the searches.
The assets discovered during the searches were disproportionate to Rao's legitimate sources of income, the ACB official said. He was being questioned.
