AIADMK councillor succumbs to injuries suffered in attack

: The AIADMK councillor of Ramaiyanpatti succumbed today to injuries suffered in an attack by a six member gang at Manoore, police said.

They said Isakimuthu (45) and his wife were hacked by some persons at Manoore yesterday while they were travelling on a bike. The seriously injured couple were admitted to the hospital, where the councillor died this morning, they said.

Two persons have been arrested in connection with the incident and a search was on for the others, police said.
