AIADMK nominee files nomination for by-election in Nellithope

AIADMK's Om Sakthi Segar today filed his nomination for the November 19 by-election to Nellithope Assembly constituency.

Segarhad held the Nellithope segment for two consecutive terms in 2006 and 2011.

However, he was defeated by A John Kumar of Congress in the assembly elections held in May this year.

Segar filed his papers before the Returning Officer G Malarkannan.

The vacancy in Nellithope arose after John Kumar quit in September 15 this year to clear the decks for Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, who is not a member of the assembly, to contest.
