BJP legislators today criticised Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led government over the release of separatist leader Masarat Alam, saying they were not bothered about the coalition government, of which BJP is also a part, and demanded that the "dreaded terrorist" be rearrested.
"Masarat's release was wrong and uncalled for. We oppose it. Those in helm of affairs calling Masarat a political leader, who spearheaded 'Go Back India' campaign in Kashmir... it is ridiculous. Appropriate action must be taken. We do not bother about the government," BJP youth wing state chief and MLA Ravinder Raina told reporters here.
"BJP will never tolerate this insult to the nation. Masarat Alam is a dreaded terrorist and we are ready to sacrifice 1,000 such governments for the sake of nation's pride. BJP will never compromise under any circumstances. We are here because of CMP. But this step is ridiculous. Masarat should be rearrested," he said.

Criticising the government for the decision, of which BJP is part, its Kashmir-based MLC Sofi Yousef said the decision was wrong.
"I do not know what is the stand the party seniors will take. But my personal opinion is that Masarat should have not been released," Sofi said.
"A man who is responsible for the death of over 100 youths in Kashmir should not have been released. The decision is wrong," Sofi, who was recently elected as MLC, said.
