Aluminium futures down 0.40% on low demand

Aluminium prices drifted lower by 0.40 per cent to Rs 151.15 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced bets amid easing demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in far-month June fell by 60 paise, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 151.15 per kg in business turnover of 13 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in May shed 35 paise, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 151 per kg in 510 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly weighed on aluminium prices at futures trade.
