A day after Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) president Anurag Thakur's outburst, Congress today criticised the resolution passed by HPCA attacking the state government.
"The resolution is nothing more than an attempt of Anurag Thakur to make his political career and he is only trying to hide the irregularities committed by him," Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Naresh Chauhan said.
"Anurag has no right to criticise Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh or the state government as he has indulged in commercialisation of cricket while former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal had indulged in commercialisation of politics," Chauhan alleged.

By conducting investigations into the irregularities committed by HPCA, the state government is not indulging in politics of vendetta but trying to find out the truth, he said.
Chauhan said the change in land use was done without taking permission of the cabinet and HPCA constructed a hotel on the allotted land, flouting rules and regulations.
He further blamed Anurag Thakur for facilitating outsiders in the whole scam and said an inquiry was ordered into the incident after taking into consideration all pros and cons on the issue while HPCA violated rules and regulations.
"The resolution passed by HPCA in which they have criticised the Congress government, reflects the utter frustration of Thakur," the HPCC spokesperson said adding, if Anurag has not committed anything wrong, he need not worry at all and face the vigilance inquiry to vindicate his position.
