A two-year-old boy, who had gone missing, was today found dead under mysterious circumstances in a sugarcane field near Lingampeta village in the district.
N Manideep went missing yesterday while he was playing outside his house. Following a complaint lodged by his family, police had initiated a search, sub-inspector of KD Peta police station Ch Harikrishna said.
This morning, Manideep was found dead in the sugarcane field with injury marks on his body, the officer said.
A case under relevant sections of CrPC has been registered and investigations are underway, police said.
