Sales Tax assistant commissioner arrested

An Assistant Commissioner of Sales Tax has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a wife of a police constable in an inebriating state and threatening her, police said here on Monday.

Subhash Chandra was arrested on Sunday on the complaint of the woman, Circle Officer (CO) Tejbir Singh said.

Later, the Assistant Commissioner was produced in a court, which released him on bail, the CO said.

Both the victim and the accused are the residents of the same locality.
