Asst vehicles inspector is worth Rs 3 crore, ACB finds out

The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) today arrested an assistant motor vehicles inspector working in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana after finding assets worth about Rs 1.5 crore allegedly belonging to him.

A Shiva Lingam, the accused, worked at RTA check-post at Alampur in the district.

Acting on information, simultaneous searches were conducted at his house and that of his relatives and associates here and other places today, an ACB release said.

The searches brought to light a residential building, a flat, 23 acres of agricultural land, four plots of land and 770 grams of gold ornaments, 2.3 kg silver, insurance policies of 23.8 lakh, two cars and two two-wheelers.
 

The 'document value' of these assets is about 1.5 crore while the market value of the immovable properties alone is approximately Rs 3 crore, the release said.
