"While around Rs 90 crore businesses were made last year, this year, the estimated business must have crossed Rs 100 crore surpassing all records," official sources said.
The festival was officially closed last night after an extension of a day, but traders had a brisk business the whole day today.
Power and water supply was snapped, but some traders will continue to remain here for few more days.
Police sources said on an average, at least five lakh visitors thronged the fairgrounds every day. On Sunday and Wednesday, it was estimated that at least ten lakh revellers visited Baliyatra.
Officials said stalls of food, electronic goods, culinary items and other household articles, and joyride owners did good business during the last four days.
Banks and insurance companies too made discernible inroads by opening their stalls at the fair.
The district administration too came out richer as apart from getting a land rent of Rs five lakh, it generated revenue around Rs 10 crore in terms of taxes, the sources said.
The stalls set up by Panchayat raj department and selling ethnic items, did a business of over Rs 10 crore. It was little over Rs nine crore last year, official sources said.
