Beyonce's name mystery solved

Pop star Beyonce Knowles maternal uncle Roland Beyince has revealed that her evocative first name was inspired by his side of the family. During the premiere of Beyonce's upcoming HBO documentary Beyonce: Life is But a Dream, Roland, who is Tina Knowles' biological brother, revealed the inspiration behind her name, reported New York Post. "My sister Tina (Knowles) did not think we had enough boys in the family to keep the (Beyince) name going, so she gave Beyonce our last name as the first name," he said. Tina wound up giving her daughter Beyonce a similar name to Beyince, but Ronald didn't reveal why she swapped out vowels.
