Dominating the proceedings, host Bihar shot out Arunachal Pradesh for a paltry 83 and then took an impressive 288-run lead on the opening day of Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy here today.
Reshu Rai bowled a lethal 10 over- spell to pick seven wickets and conceded only 14 runs, helping Bihar take early control.
Bihar skipper Arnav Kishor then smashed 169 runs off just 129 balls. His majestic knock comprised two sixes and 28 fours.
Opener Ritik Rajesh (54), Baljeet Singh Bihari (62 not out) and Prakash Babu (69 not out) also contributed with the bat, helping their team to pile up a mammoth 371 for two wickets at stumps.
