In a press statement, BJP today said Singh has expressed serious concern over the recent violence in Goalpara area of Assam. "In the violence there, 13 people were killed in police firing while another 13 were killed by suspected Bangladeshis. Houses in about 15 villages in the area were set on fire," the party said.
The team comprises Guwahati MP Bijaya Chakravarty, Rajya Sabha MPs Prakash Javadekar and Tarun Vijay, and Meerut MP Rajendra Agarwal. It will reach Assam tomorrow to study the situation in Goalpara area and write a report.
