The mortal remains of Army jawan Pradip Singh Kushwah, killed during an encounter with militants in south Kashmir, today arrived at the city airport.
Kushwah and another soldier were killed and a CRPF jawan suffered injuries in the encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Pulwama district yesterday.
Gujarat Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja and several Army officers were present at the airport to receive Kushwah's body whose parents reside at Meghaninagar area of the city.

Jadeja and others paid homage to the fallen soldier at the airport this evening.
Kushwah's last rites will be performed tomorrow morning, his relatives said.
The 22-year-old jawan, who was to get married soon, joined the Army in 2013. His younger brother recently joined the Army and he is currently undergoing training, a relative told reporters.
"Kushwah's parents were out of station when they learnt about their son's death. They are now returning home. They are in deep shock as they were preparing for his marriage," a relative said.
A large number of local residents gathered outside Kushwah's house when they came to know about his supreme sacrifice. They shouted slogans against Pakistan and waved the tricolour to pay tribute to the martyr.
