Boy drowns as boat capsizes in Telangana

A 10-year-old boy today drowned after a boat carrying ten passengers capsized in river Godavari at Kaleshwaram in the district, police said.

"The private country boat carrying 10 passengers was on its way from Kaleshwaram to Sironcha in Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra. It capsized at around 3 PM in Godavari river," Kataram Circle Inspector G Sadan Kumar said.

"While nine others survived, M Vamshi of Adivaram pet drowned in the river", he said.

His body was fished out and investigations are underway, police said.
