Alleging that they were sidelined in the party, brothers of late BJP leader and former Himachal Pradesh minister, Hari Narain Saini, today joined Congress along with their supporters.
Avtar Singh and Yashpal Singh were welcomed to the party fold by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh at a public function in Mandyarpur of Solan district.
On this occasion, Chief Minister dedicated and inaugurated projects worth Rs 42 crore in Nalagarh sub-division, which included Rs 8.10 crore 'Skill Upgrading Development Centre' and 1.38 crore multi-purpose barrier building at Barotiwala.
Saini was a three-time MLA from Nalagarh seat in Solan district.
After his death in 2011, his wife had contested the by-election from Nalagarh but lost. She was denied ticket in last year's Assembly polls.
