BSP leader booked under SC/ST Act

Police said the FIR was lodged at Sikanderpur police station here under various sections of the IPC and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Ram has been accused of beating up and threatening BSP workers Krishna Ram and Narendra Bharti on Sunday in connection with ticket distribution in just concluded urban body elections, police said.

Ram was party coordinator and district unit president during the BSP government.
