bypoll to three Assembly seats in Assam on Sept 13

The Election Commission today announced by-elections to three Assembly constituencies in Assam on September 13 next.

The three constituencies are 9-Silchar, 13-Lakhipur and 90-Jamunamukh, a government information department release here said.

The polling will take place on September 13 and the counting of votes will be on September 16.

The by-election has been necessitated following the election of Silchar MLA Sushmita Dev and Jamunamukh MLA Mohammad Sirajuddin Ajmal to the Lok Sabha during the last general elections and death of Dinesh Prasad Goala of 13-Lakhipur.
