Central government will introduce Electronic Fund Management System (e-FMS) in all states to disburse wages more speedily to MGNREGA workers, officials said today.

"This system will enable the authorities to disburse funds to the MGNREGA workers quickly. So the central government decided to introduce the system throughout the country by December next," a senior official of Union Rural Development Ministry said.

The official, Ritesh Saxena, told a workshop here that a pilot project of the e-FMS was implemented in four states - Karnataka, Odisha, Rajasthan and Gujarat - which yielded good results.

Later it was introduced in Tripura and Assam in the North-East which also proved to be useful, he said.

Tripura secured the top position for the last three consecutive years in implementation of men-days generation under the MGNREGA scheme.
