Chana prices fell 1.39 per cent to Rs 3,895 per quintal in futures trade Monday as investors booked profits at prevailing levels amid easing demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in this month's contract fell by Rs 55, or 1.39 per cent, to Rs 3,895 per quintal with an open interest of 7,910 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in October declined by Rs 38, or 0.94 per cent, to Rs 3,992 per quintal in 61,670 lots.
Analysts said, besides profit-booking by participants at existing levels, a decline in demand at the physical market against sufficient stocks position attributed to the fall in chana futures.
