CIAL registers net profit of Rs 124.37 crore

Cochin International Airport Ltd, which runs the Nedumbassery airport at Kochi, has recorded a net profit of Rs 124.37 crore for 2013-14 fiscal, an increase of 11.68 per cent from the previous financial year.

Total earnings of the Airport for the year was at Rs 361.39 crore, a 17.9 per cent growth compared to last year. A total of 54 lakh passengers travelled through the Airport during the period, a CIAL statement said

It also said the new under construction Rs 850 crore terminal would be completed within two years.

CIAL today paid a dividend of Rs.17.76 crore to the government for the shares held by it.
 

State Minister in-charge of Airport K Babu today handed over a cheque for the amount to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

To a question, CIAL Managing Director V J Kurian who was also present, said there was no plan to change Air India from ground handling works at the airport.
