Collector goes extra-mile to provide shoes to school children

Jalore District Collector has launched a campaign to provide shoes to those students of government schools who cannot afford to buy them.

For this initiative, the collector has also roped in donors who are providing shoes to the students.

"During a visit to a school last month, I saw three students without shoes. They could not afford to purchase shoes, so I bought them shoes that day.

"After that, I initiated the campaign to provide shoes to all those students who have to come to school without shoes," Jalore Collector Jitendra Soni said.

"There are almost 25,000 students who go to school without shoes and all those students will be provided shoes by January 26," Soni said, adding, that the campaign has received a good response from donors which include not only locals but NRIs also.
 

He said that nearly 3,000 students have been provided shoes so far.
