The forum passed the order against Mata Gujri College (MGC) on the complaints of Jasleen Kaur and Lovejot Kaur Dhillon, both from Patiala.

Jasleen, who was allotted an MBA seat in the college after appearing in the state entrance test conducted by Guru Nanak Dev University, had deposited an amount of Rs 48,581 but later got a seat in Punjabi University.

She approached the entrance test coordinator for fee refund who asked the college to return the money.

The MGC, however, failed to comply with the directives, following which she lodged a complaint with the forum.

The Forum yesterday directed MGC to refund Rs 47,581 after deduction of processing fee of Rs 1,000, and also asked it to pay Rs 2,000 as litigation charges.

In the second case, the forum directed the college to return fee submitted by Lovejot, who was also alloted MBA seat in the same college in second counseling, but got a chance in Punjabi University, Patiala after third counselling.

The forum asked the college to return Rs 52,646 after deduction of Rs 1,000 as processing fee and Rs 5,000 as litigation charges within one month from the receipt of the order, failing which an interest of 6 per cent will be levied till the realisation of the amount.
