A former BJP think-tank K N Govindacharya today said development of the country was not possible by ignoring environment balance.
Govindacharya, who was here to take part in a seminar organised on the sidelines of the ongoing meet on Environment and Development in East India, said one could not expect development ignoring environment because sustenance of earth meant development.
Citing example of destruction and loss caused by tampering with nature, he said while decreasing underground water sources or depleting underground water level had impacted on frogs on the earth surface, mosquitoes with Dengue and Chikungunya virus have been spreading drastically in parts of the country and the society was facing its wrath.

He strongly advocated for maintaining a balance between development and environment.
Govindacharya said people were committing wrongs owning to accumulation of huge money from unfair means.
Stating that the country needed a systematic change, the former BJP general secretary cautioned that nature would pay in the same coin if any attempt was made to tamper with it.
