Three girls, who had eloped with their boyfriends and got married in separate incidents here, were handed over to their parents after a local court declared them as minors, police said today.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Suresh Chand Arya yesterday ordered that the girls be handed over to their parents and not allowed to live with their boyfriends as wives as they were minor, they said.
The girls were not allowed to live with their boyfriends despite their claims in separate court statements that they were in love and got married with their consent, they said.
One of the girl had eloped with Ombir from Ghsoli village on July 4, 2013, while another eloped with Sunil from Alem town on January 28, 2013. A girl from Kandhla town eloped with Inam on June 11, 2013.
The girls' parents' had lodged a complaint of abduction against their boyfriends in separate cases, police said.
