Court extends judicial custody of Saradha accused

A local court hearing the Saradha scam today extended the judicial custody of Saradha Group chief Sudipto Sen, his close associate Debjani Mukherjee and suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh till November 3.

During hearing in the court of the metropolitan magistrate, Ghosh argued that he was not involved in the siphoning of Saradha funds as he was in the editorial department which was not linked to the finance department.

Ghosh also appealed for bail in the case, stating that those who were trying to influence the case were outside the jail and therefore his bail would not affect the investigation.
