Amid a crackdown on corrupt cadres, President Xi Jinping today warned top leaders in the Politburo of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) not to have any sense of superiority regarding their power or status.
Xi, the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a two-day meeting of the Politburo which ended today, during which members discussed measures to strengthen discipline in the party and clean governance.
It was raised at the meeting that after the misconduct of disgraced top officials of the party, including ex-security chief Zhou Yongkang, a party member might as well lose his party spirit, state run Xinhua news agency reported.
President Xi has launched a massive anti-corruption campaign, the biggest in China's recent history involving both civil and army officials.
