Criminal shot dead after court hearing in UP

A notorious criminal was shot dead allegedly by four miscreants at Muzaffarnagar railway station when he was being escorted by the police after a court hearing here today.

Gangster Asif, accused in several cases of murder, loot, kidnapping, was being taken by the police to Allahabad Naini Central jail after the hearing when the four shot him and escaped.

Asif was rushed to a hospital in a serious condition where he was declared dead, police said.
