Delhi govt clears Rs 41 cr road devp projects

The Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) of Delhi Government today cleared three projects amounting to Rs 41 crore which will be implemented by Public Works Department.
A meeting of the EFC, chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who is also holding charge of Finance Department, approved the projects.
She said an amount of Rs 15.41 crore has been sanctioned for strengthening of the road from Britania Chowk to Outer Ring Road in East Delhi.

The project will be completed within six months.
Another amount of Rs 11.32 crore has been sanctioned for strengthening of a road from Metcafe House Crossing to Majnu Ka Tila in North Delhi. The PWD has been told to complete the work within eight months.
Officials said the contractor for the both the projects will have to maintain the roads for a period of five years.
The EFC also sanctioned an amount of Rs 14.62 crore for widening of road between School Block Shakarpur to Ganesh Nagar Chowk in East Delhi.
