Demonetised notes seized; five held

Police today seized demonetised currency notes with a face value of over Rs 2.71 crore from a five-member gang at Paravur area near here today.,

The gang members, also comprising a woman, was arrested while transporting the currency notes in a vehicle at five am in Paravur area, police said.

Police said their team found demonetised currency notes of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denominations hidden in a bag kept in the vehicle.
