Thousands of devotees bid adieu to Lord Ganesh amidst tight security in Vadodara, Bharuch, Godhra, Dohad and Anand districts of Central gujarat today.
Organisers of various processions immersed Ganesh idols in the 120-year-old Sursagar Lake, other ponds, as well as the Mahisagar river located on the city outskirts.
The police made elaborate arrangements to ensure immersion of more than 2,000 Ganesh idols in ponds, lakes and artificial ponds in the city.

Around four additional companies of the State Reserve Police, three companies of the Rapid Action Force, one company of the Border Security Force, the local police as well as homeguards are deployed, official sources said.
Barricades were erected and high mast lighting systems were used at the main Sursagar Lake, where a large number of idols were immersed, while 30 cranes were used to immerse idols in the Sursagar Lake.
