Hundreds of devotees thronged the Lord Muruga temple here to offer worship on the auspicious Vaikasi Visakam day today considered a very significant festival for the Lord.
Devotees also thronged the shrines at Tiruparankunram in Madurai district and Palani in Dindigul district.
The devotees carried different types of "Kavadis" and milk pots to the temple for performing abhishekam to the presiding deity. Authorities had arranged for feasts for the devotees.
The temples were opened for pooja early in the morning. PTI SSN.
