Digvijay congratulates Speaker Sumitra Mahajan

Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh today congratulated the senior BJP leader and Indore MP Sumitra Mahajan on being elected as the new Lok Sabha speaker.

"I offer my best wishes to Tai (elder sister in Marathi, as Mahajan is popularly known in the state) on being unanimously elected as the new Lok Sabha Speaker," Singh said in a statement, adding that it was a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh that for the first time a person from the state would be occupying the Speaker's post.
