Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today demanded the Election Commission debar Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd CMD K D Chaudhuri from working till the elections in the state are over, alleging that he was functioning like an "extension" of the ruling Akali Dal.
"Election Commission should debar KD Chaudhri, CMD of Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd from working till the model code of conduct for Assembly elections are in force," an AAP spokesperson said here.
She alleged that Chaudhri was working like an extension of the ruling Akali Dal by doling out reckless favours in the constituencies of top party leaders like Chief minister Prakash Singh Badal, his son Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia.

Chaudhri is also probably the only government official in the entire country whose retirement age has been extended upto the age of 67 years on December 20, she said.
Even persons on constitutional posts like Supreme Court judges cannot work after the age of 65 years, she added.
