EDMC hires agency to monitor solid waste disposal system

East Delhi Municipal Corporation has hired an agency to monitor its solid waste disposal system.

At present, EDMC operates several vehicles that pick up solid waste from colonies and take it to sanitary land fill site. Besides, auto-tippers and other vehicles collect garbage and take it to Dhalav, from where these are further transported to the landfill site.

"The EDMC wants to implement E-Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Monitoring System to closely monitor solid waste removal in its jurisdiction and to ensure optimal utilisation of vehicles deployed," EDMC officials said.

They said tender process for selecting the agency has been completed.

Based on the bids, M/s AKS Software Limited have been granted the right to monitor the solid waste disposal system for four years at the cost of Rs 1.92 crore on Build-Own- Operate basis.
