Eight jail inmates escape from Nepal prison

Eight inmates escaped from a prison in Nepal through a tunnel dug by them.
The inmates ran away form the Rolpa prison at mid-night yesterday, said Rapti Zonal Police Chief Uttam Singh.
Most of them are convicted of serious crimes like rape, dacoity and wildlife poaching, the authorities said.

A squad of 19 policemen were deputed to guard the prison.
After the jailbreak, hundreds of security personnel were mobilised and checkpoints were put up across the district.
