Elderly man dies in freak mishap

In a freak mishap, a 65-year-old man today died of head injuries sustained after a pinnate leaf of a coconut tree fell on him at a village in the district, police said.

A Bala Kurup was walking on a road to Thanneerpanthal village from his house this afternoon when the pinnate leaf snapped under the influence of strong wind and fell on his head.

He was rushed to Vadakara District Co-operative Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, police said.
