Elderly man shot dead

dead this afternoon when he was returning home at Panihati in North 24-Parganas.

The police said Asim Ghosh (50) died on the spot when some miscreants hurled bombs at him and shot him dead from behind.

The motive behind Ghosh's killing is unclear.

He was returning home at Deshbandhu Park from market when the miscreants targeted him, sources said.
