Elderly woman killed by kin on suspicion of sorcery in T'gana

A 65-year-old woman, who was suspected to indulge in sorcery, was killed in her sleep by kin at her residence in the district, police said today.
Pallepu Narsamma was murdered after her two nephews slit her throat yesterday at Jagdevpet village under Velgatoor police limits, nearly 50 km from here, Peddapalli Circle Inspector A Mahesh said.
She was living separately from her children in Jagdevpet village, he said.

Her nephews Pallepu Mallesh (34) and Pallepu Nagesh (32) developed a suspicion that she is indulging in sorcery, the officer said.
"Last night, the duo slit her throat by a knife, while she was sleeping at her house and escaped from the spot," Mahesh said.
However, the incident came to light this morning after villagers spotted her body in a pool of blood, the officer added.
A case under section 302 (murder) of IPC was registered in this regard and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused, police said.
