Elephant enters village

An elephant, which strayed from its herd and entered a village near here, was today driven into the nearby forest, officials said.

The elephants, after consuming water from the Varattupallam reservoir, moved towards Vattakadu village, and one of them entered it.

Forest officials along with the local people scared the elephant by making noises and made it run into the forest after a three-hour struggle.
