Expanding its base in India, Electro-Motive Diesel, a leading global locomotive manufacturer, today opened a state-of-the-art facility centre in Noida to cater to the growing demand of loco components.
"EMD is committed to investing in India to support Indian Railways in future technology. In order to provide effective support to Indian Railways, we have increased our indigenization in India by inaugurating our new facility in Noida today," EMD president Billy Ainsworth said after the inauguration of the facility.
Chairman Railway Board Arunendra Kumar and senior railway officials were present on the occasion.

EMD will be manufacturing electronic control cabinets for the Indian Railways at the Noida facility and will also provide support services like overhaul of components, according to a release.
The Noida facility is also aimed at making India a global hub for export of sophisticated locomotive systems.
EMD, a fully owned subsidiary of Progress Rail Services, offers railroad solutions to railways across the world, including locomotives, track, re-power, signaling and safety technologies.
