Employee of pvt company shot dead, Rs 11 lakh looted

An employee of a private company was today shot dead and another injured allegedly by some unidentified persons who looted Rs 11 lakh in cash from their possession, police said today.

The two employees, Ekant Sharma and Rahul, of a bakery firm, based in industrial area on Lucknow-Varanasi national highway, had gone to Bank Of Baroda's Jagdishpur branch to deposit the cash, they said.

"Some unidentified miscreants shot dead Ekant, 45, son of Santosh Sharma and resident of Kanpur, and looted cash Rs 11 lac and fled away. Sharma died on spot," he said, adding that his companion Rahul received injuries in his leg and fell on ground.
 

He was rushed to community health centre Jagdishpur where he is undergoing treatment.

DIG of Faizabad Division, RC Sahu, and SP Amethi, Anees Ansari, visited the spot.
