Pointing out there can't ever be a collaborative film involving different languages and nationalities, celebrated music director Debajyoti Misra says but music can have the one universal note.

Since films are borne out of the unique geographical position of every land, reflecting its people, customs, cuisine, cities and culture, there can't be a film combining the frontiers of two states, the music director of most Rituparno Ghosh films told PTI.

"Each film tells the unique story of its own people so films are dialect-specific, region-specific. But in the language of songs, nationalities, religion, everything becomes one," the 'Memories in March' music-man said.

Debajyoti was speaking on the sidelines of Parijat - a music cd launch by upcoming Assamese singers Neeshanti Nitul and Sucheta where he referred how the tunes were imbued with the earthy resonance of Bengal.

Upcoming actor Arunima Ghosh, an important name in arthouse Bengali films, said, "There had been Bengali films with Oriya collboaration.

"We had worked in their films, they been part of ours. If you take away the language, human beings look same, and are the same everywhere," the Bonkubabu actor said.
