Excise inspector held for taking bribe of Rs 1 lakh

An excise inspector was arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting Rs one lakh bribe in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh.

Abdul Kaleem, Excise Inspector, SHO, Prohibition and Excise Department, Narsipatnam was arrested yesterday when he demanded and received sum from the complainant, a ACB release said today.

He took the bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour to not harass him by booking cases and to allow smooth running of the business.

The accused officer was arrested and produced before the ACB court, Visakhapatnam, the release said adding the case is under investigation.
