Five ultras held in Sukma

Five naxals were arrested from Gorli village in Sukma district today for their alleged involvement in various cases, including murder and looting.

They were arrested by a joint team of CRPF and district police after laying a siege to their hideout in the village, said Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh.

The ultras are identified as Sahdev alias Sanna Mandavi (26), Kawasi Nanda (35), Madkam Ganga (26), Muchaki Handa (26) and Hidma (30).

Among the arrested, Handa carried a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head for his alleged role in the murder of a villager in Korra in January.
 

The naxals are accused of looting election equipment at Dodpal booth during 2015 Panchayat elections, besides being involved in various cases of murder and attempt to murder.
