Dense fog and mist disrupted rail, road and air services in Rajasthan today with Udaipur recording season's coldest night at a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius.

Most north-west parts of the state were engulfed in mist and fog this morning as sun remained elusive for a third day at Sikar, Dausa, Alwar and Jaipur districts, a MeT department official said.

At least 14 trains arrived late in parts of Rajasthan, while 10 trains are running late by 25 minutes to 5 hours, an NWR spokesman said.

The Hawara-Sriganganagar train is running about 5 hours late, while Varansasi-Jodhpur (Marudhar Express) is late by over two hours, the spokesman said.

Similarly, the buses on Delhi-Jaipur routes also got delayed by one to two hours due to fog, an official said.

There was some delay in landing of morning flights at Jaipur International Airport due to dense fog and poor visibility, an airport official said.

Jaipur remained engulfed in fog and misty weather as minimum temperature dipped by three degrees as compared to yesterday and settled at 7.9 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Chittorgarh recorded a minimum of 5.5 degree Celsius, Jalore's low was 5.7 degree Celsius, Mount Abu, the sole hill station in the state recorded minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Sriganganagar was 6.7 degrees Celsius while that in Bikaner was 7.6 degrees Celsius.

Jaisalmer and Ajmer recorded minimum temperature at 8 degrees Celsius each, Tonk recorded minimum temperature of 8.7 degrees Celsius, and Jodhpur at 9.4 degrees Celsius.

A trough originated from south of Arabian Sea was passing out from Rajasthan and reaching Maharashtra, and by tomorrow the sky would be clear, though mercury may dip further and fog will replace misty weather in Rajasthan, a MeT officials said.
